While Estate Homes are the largest of the homes, the design allows them to retain the simple honesty and durability of the architecture seen within the Silk Hope neighborhood. These homes are situated around the edges of the village, creating a transition in scale from the more intimately scaled village architecture and the larger rural setting of The Ford Plantation.
The Longleat Estate Home features picturesque views of The Ford Plantation along with timeless, yet distinctive, architectural details. The home features 4,765 square feet under roof, with 4 bedrooms and 41⁄2 baths. The Foxley home is designed to be positioned to adapt to unique site features, including signature trees that are located on Silk Hope estate homesites.
All raised foundations receive termite treatment, and slabs are protected by a continuous 10 mil. polyethylene vapor barrier. Foundation walls and piers are finished in brick or hand trowelled masonry stucco.
All exterior wall framing is a minimum of 2×6 studs with continuous plywood sheathing. The first four feet of sheathing is pressure treated and all inside and outside corners are protected with Ice and Water Shield.
All exterior walls are clad in brick masonry at all primary building masses with additive building forms including wood elements as flush horizontal siding.
Windows & Doors
All windows and exterior doors include impact rated glass in the Marvin Integrity series or equivalent. All headers receive copper flashing, and sills receive custom copper pans, double flashed with Grace Vycor membrane. Entry doors are custom crafted mahogany.
Wood flooring is 21⁄4” inch Oak hardwood installed and finished throughout the main living spaces and master suite. Carpet
is provided in second-floor bedrooms. Bathrooms are appointed with natural stone and tile installed over a sealed
and waterproof membrane.
All roofs are fully underlaid with Ice and Water Shield. Roofing is Slate and Standing Seam Copper. Slate Roofs are random width with 71⁄2” exposure. Copper roofs where applicable are 16oz.
Homes are insulated with open cell foam, including roof rafters. Conditioning attic spaces gives the homes a substantial increase in energy savings, minimizes condensation from hot attics and cold ducts, and makes the homes quieter.
Trim & Cabinetry
All interior standing and running trim is clear hardwood, conditioned a minimum of two weeks prior to installation. Cabinets have inset flush doors and drawers and are custom built or furnished by a top of the line cabinet manufacturer.
Appliances & Countertops
All homes are provided a total appliance package of Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Asko appliances including professional ranges, venting and refrigeration. Countertops are marble, stone, or exotic wood for kitchens and baths with 1-inch high double-lock seam.
Fireplaces are masonry and wood burning with true chimneys and brick hearths and surrounds. There is a gas line for gas logs or gas starters (pending owner selection).
Baths and kitchens are fitted with Kohler and Kallista fixtures. Shower drains are Schluter system drains located under benches or along walls. Waste systems utilize cast iron laterals rather than PVC for sound control. All water lines are Type-L copper.
All heating and air conditioning units are variable speed technology, high-efficiency systems. A blower door test is performed and an energy efficiency certificate is provided.
All homes include pre-wiring for audio-visual as well as security and home management services.
Owner Manual & Warranty
Owners are provided with a warranty manual including appliance warranty information, product information and suggested maintenance, and a contact list of all trades and vendors who worked on their home.
